Volunteer my services to help serve the homeless families

Where can I volunteer to help serve food to the homeless in Washington DC or Prince George's County? My daughter (6) and I (25) would like to find an organization to join to help. I want to show my children that helping other people that are in need is great. If anyone have places in mind please send it to jonesraz@yahoo.com. thank you
