Hello,

My name is Donna. Myself, my domestic partner of 15+ years and my two kids( one of them 20 years old, has autism spectrum disorder, and is not ready to care for himself right now) are recently homeless. Right now, we are driving in a budget truck with no money , no car or no place to live.

My domestic partner is a marine mechanic, and was laid off several months ago. he can not find work. He receives unemployment that is about to run out in feb. 2010. We do not get a check until dec 22-of $500.

I am a pediatric RN. I was hired for a good job in Aug. 2009. However, I took ill needing surgery and an extened leave of absence which my employer was willing to give me; however,I was still on orientation (only a week) and, HR said I was not eligible for a leave. They could not hold my job, and I was not eligible for unemployment.

I have been applying everywhere for a job. I had an interview at All Childrens Hospital last Thurs which looks very promising. I was told that I would heaR SOMETHING BY next Monday. Also, I had another in terview at a hospital last Tues that also looks good and will know something next week. I also have another possible interview from someone who is very interested. I replied to them yesterday and will hear something on Mon. So, I do have prospects, and I am willing to work a minimum wage job. I am looking right now.I also have two much loved cats and a baby iguana that we are going to be forced to part with soon.

Is there anyone who would be willing to take them in temp. until we are settled? Please! I would also like to know if anyone could help us out at all? Is there anyone who knows or has a job opportunuty or needs a marine mechanic or service manager or any type of work? Does any one have a old car that they could loan or donate? Anything?
