I know a homeless lady in Las Vegas. She is in her late 40's and by herself. She has a part-time job, but does not make enough to pay for an apartment on her own. She is looking for full-time work, but just hasn't had any luck the last several months. She is a fine lady; she does not smoke or drink, and she does not need money from anyone. She just needs a place to live for a couple of months to enable her to be able to sleep at night and take a shower so that when she goes to work and, more importantly, goes out to LOOK for a full-time job, she isn't turned down just because she couldn't find a place to get cleaned up.
Las Vegas as a city government is very hard on its homeless and its citizens on the edge. Do you know anyone who might be willing to offer her just this little bit of help? She is quiet, well-mannered, and just is not going to be able to survive on the streets much longer. All she needs is a room for a little while. If you or anyone you know can help, please, please...just give her a chance. If she gets the chance, she will be out of your or their hair in a short amount of time, and she absolutely will not be or cause a single problem for anyone. I just don't have the resources to be able to send her enough money to make her rent payments. If necessary, I can provide her with money for food and incidentals until she gets back on her feet. First I want to say what you are doing is awesome and I pray there are more people out there opening their hearts as you are. I have a friend who has 2 boys and she is recovering from surgery but is about to be evicted in a matter of days. I would let them come live with me, but I don't have any room. If you can help them out for a month or so that would be a blessing.

Tina&Garland, I was so shocked when I found your website! I was just getting ready to put up the same kind of offer to someone in our area. My husband and I have 3 boys at home but they are all pretty independent,and we would just love to have a little girl around. We are Very fortunate to have a comfortable life and we live in the country and my parents live next door. I really believe that we all need to lend a helping hand to those in need alittle more often and stop worrying about what "they can do for me." There are quite a few wonderful maternity homes in the Los Angeles area. One is Casa Theresa in Orange, CA and their number is 714-538-2185. Please ask to speak with Susan Lockard and tell her that Sybil from Heartsent referred you to her. I know that she will be able to help you as they have a home for pregnant women who have decided to parent and another one for women who are planning to place their baby for adoption. If you decide that you would like more information about adoption and if you want more information about other good maternity homes around LA, please Heartsent Adoptions at 1-888-339-8802 and I'd be more than happy to talk with you.
