Sounds like you're going through a pretty tough time right now. Well there are plenty of programs that will help you in California. I live in Sacramento, and I know for sure that there are tons of programs that will help you as far as your daughter. Maybe you can find a shelter near where your daughter is in chico california. It's amazing to see all of the comments on this site. I felt like I was the only one. I'm a single father myself and i'm 24 years old. I have 3 kids with 2 different mothers. I'm not a bad guy I just moved out when I 17 and really made some poor decisions. I got custody of my oldest 2 in feb 08 and had a child nov. 10th of 07 with the person that has recently left us. The kids got taken from thier mom because my son was thrown against a wall by her b/f and broke his collar bone. After admitting this she took him back into her home, and did the same thing when he got out of jail for it and even had two kids with him. So they no longer see her. just this winter I hurt my knee doing construction and havn't worked since. a month or two later my g/f left me and took my youngest child with her. I am just to the point now where my knee is good enough to walk and be on my feet all day. We are getting evicted and everything is on dissconnect. I had an arrangement with a "friend" and he never showed up yesterday and is ignoring all my calls and txts. I make some money doing video editing but not a lot at all. If anyone has a room, a basement anything that we can stay in for a little while untill i get back on my feet, or a job lead, anything. I am at my lowest point of my life and really need help if it's out there. I'm not sure when the internet is getting shut off but the water was supposed to go today. I just want to state I'm praying for all the people going through a hard time on this site. I'm a single mom of 2 children 9 and almost 2 years old. Well his grandmother kicked me out, but I still had a part time job so I was able to stay at a hotel with a little bit of money for food to feed my son. I represent a foundation called "Hope for the Future Children's Foundation". We are located in Orlando, Florida. We are a new foundation and are in the process of assisting initially a few single parent families in the central Florida area. We plan to begin assistance in January; however we are open to taking applications now. The qualifying factors are:

1. Must be a single parent in the central Florida area without additional family support in the area.
2. Must have some income
3. Children must be between 4 and 10.

What we provide is the following:
1. Financial support to supplement existing income.
2. Assistance to single parent in securing a job, handling finances, personal counseling and coaching. Spiritual help provided also if desired.
3. Each child of the single parent is put into a mentoring relationship. This is essential for the holistic assistance that this foundation seeks to provide.
4. Each single parent will be pared up with a married couple who will be trained to provide the above support in number 2 and 3.

hi this is amanda i would just like to find a kind hearted guardian angel to help me. I am really need for the past year i had to move to colombia south america. I have been helping my mother here paying her bills and all. she got deported when i was 5 years old from the states. So all my life i have been bouncing from home to home in my family in the united states i was living with my sister all this time until last year that decided to come back to my mothers country home. Due to the fact i couldn't get along with my brother in law there was always a fight about something i mean always.Things got worst when my cousin died i was really close to him and i felt into a severe depresion and decided to go against my life. But now i learned that life has beautifull things we just dnt realize it and we have so much to live for .Right now i cannot provide for her here now that the situation is worst here she is 57 and she cannot find a job here even if she wanted too, and if she did wouldn't let her due to the fact that she is illed and cannot work. I am my mothers left arm so i need to feed her. i am 19 years old and i am screaming for help my plans where to graduate high school and go to college and all but life hasn't given me a chance due to all the obstacles in my life that couldn't let me concentrate i would of loved to finish. but is better late then never. i plan to go back to the states but i hardly have nowhere to go i need find a job and be able to provide for her in this third world country and she has to be fed and pay medical treatments. I wasn't able to drawn unemployment because I wasn't at my last job long enough. So, I lived off savings until May of this year. I've been on public assistance since June getting $318mo which isn't nearly enough to pay my rent of $865 per month. I've been fortunate enough to be able to pay up to this point, because I allowed a friend to move in with me who didn't have anywhere else to go. So, she was able to pay half the rent which was a great help to me. But, now her unemployment has been cut so she has no source of income to pay her half. She doesn't have any kids so public assistance isn't even an option for her. She to has been looking for employment with nothing coming up. So, basically now as of October rent has not been paid. Ducking and Dodging the landlord only works for so long. I don't have any family that I can turn to. I live in South Suburban Cook County right outside of Chicago. I've looked into homeless prevention foundations in my area and in Chicago that are suppose to help with housing but no one wants to help. Everyone wants you to be employed before they help you, which is crazy. If you work everyday why would you need so much help?? But anyway, I've also tried to find a shelter that will take me and my son, but they are either full or stating they will take me and not take him because he's a 13yr old boy. Stating if he were a girl he would be able to come with me, which is another thing I find stupid. He's my child, I can't help I have a son and not a daughter. I can't leave him that's not even an option. So if anyone knows of any services that can help in the Chicagoland area or even outside of it at this point, please let me know. Hello, my name is Catherine and like all the other posts I have been on and off homeless since last May. I have two kids, one stays with his dad. I had to abandon the apartment I was living in to protect that child and myself. Since then I found out I was pregnant, denied DTA emergency help (which means no shelters or housing), and then suffered some major health complications landing me in the hospital. I had my second child in Dec.2011 he was born at 32 weeks. I am desperatly trying to find help before he is ever discharged from the NICU. I have DCF breathing down my neck and I DO NOT want to lose my baby to DCF. I have tired out every option given to me, I have even tried emailing some "talk shows" to see if they can help.
